Nanobeam, Nanostation and router in distress

Póstur af Rafurmegni »

Dear all,

I just came across a strange problem. And I can't seem to find a similar case anywhere. The background is that I have 3 sites, A, B and C.

A is connected to internet through a router 1 Gbps fibre. Equipment: NanoBeam

B is in line of sight of A and C. Equipment NanoBeam & NanoStation M5

C needs to connect through B to A. Equipment Nanostation M5

Original topology was

A to B: Nanobeam AP to Nanobeam station ptp in bridge mode

B to C: Nanostation AP to Nanostation ptp in bridge mode.

Nanobeam B was connected to Nanostation B over ethernet. All devices are on the same subnet and configured with the router IP as gateway

Due to proximity of devices at site B I decided to simplify the setup to:

Nanobeam A as station to Nanostation B AP ptmp in bridge mode

Nanostation C as station to Nanostation B AP ptmp in bridge mode

I selected the Nanostation over the Nanobeam at B due to the wider beam angle. All devices still on the same subnet as the gateway. After fiddling around with frequencies, bandwidth and power I got great links between AB and BC.

Then I discovered by monitoring the network that the router at A was starting to disconnect every 1-2 minutes. This never happened using the original link setup. Turning off Nanobeam A fixes the problem immediately.

Is it perhaps a problem to define Nanostation B as AP while the gateway is located at A behind Nanobeam A?

Could this possibly be caused by some routing conflicts causing load on the router?

Any other ideas?

Disable dhcp on them.
Let the router take care of that.

Thanks for the suggestion. I am pretty sure that none of the ubiquity equipment had DHCP enabled but it would be good to double check.
Site B and Site C are connected to the gateway subnet through seperate routers so A and C have their own subnet each. The WAN side of those routers is though connected to the same subnet as the gateway.

OK lausnin er komin.

Færði sum sé A frá "brigdge" mode yfir í "router". Bjó til sér subnet fyrir Unifi tækin og WAN hliðina á Router B og C. Þá hættu þessar truflanir sem tengdust fyrst og fremst IPTV merkinu.
