.:hérna:. er listi yfir fps með nokkrum kortum í HL2.
Svo sá ég líka á netinu um daginn mynd úr HL2 tekin á sama stað annarsvegar með Dx8 og hinsvegar með Dx9 og eini munurinn var smá
speglun í vatninu. (það var aðeins nákvæmara með Dx9, mar sá betur
hvað var að speglast)
Það var allavega það eina sem maður sá greinilega á þessum myndum...

Yo Oblivion
Couple things you have to know:
1) A Radeon 9000 is NOT a DirectX 9 level card. The naming is misleading. It is actually the SAME GPU as the Radeon 8500 but made on a smaller die (.15 micron) and has one less pipeline (or whatever its called) so it is actually SLOWER than a Radeon 8500. It compares to the Radeon 8500LE.
2) If you get a GeForce 4 card, do NOT get a GeForce 4 MX cards (NV17), since they are actually DirectX 7 level cards like the GeForce 2!! nVidia pulled a fast one naming them too.
3) The GeForce 3 (NV20) and GeForce 4 Ti series (NV25) are both DirectX 8 cards. The best value these days is a GeForce 4 Ti 4200, but it may be out of your price range. I personally would suggest looking for a GF 3 Ti 500 since it is a good match for your CPU, and runs all current DX8 games great! (I still run a GF3 (non-Titanium) on a P4 1.7 and I get good fps in most of my games with the new drivers)
The other reason I'd get an nVidia card is that most developers these days are using them to create games. ATI will likely be used more in the future as they are catching up, but games made with the current ATI cards won't show up for another year or so.
Your next upgrade should be your CPU/mobo, as any of the newest vid cards will actually be limited by your CPU, and not run as fast as their potential.
4) All DirectX 9 cards are out of your price range, but if you do want one, the Radeon 9500 (non-pro version) is a good deal.
So in summary: DirectX 7 level - GeForce 2, GeForce 4 MX, Radeon 7500

það er það sem ég hef verið að reyna að segja lengi, það er nánast engin sjáanlegur munur á direct x 8 shaders og 9... þessvegna ætti að vera auðvelt að converta þar á milli og láta leikina styðja bæði
