Ég er með séríslenskan staf í user nafninu á tölvunni hjá mér og því er séríslenskur stafur í user möppunni (C:\Users\XXX). Nú var ég að setja upp forrit sem að skilur ekki séríslenska stafi og virkaði því ekki fyrr en ég bjó til annan aðgang sem að var án nokkurra þannig.

Veit einhver hvort að það sé hægt að endurskíra user möppuna án þess að allt fari í rugl? Og nei það er ekki nóg að breyta username.

Snöggt google gaf mér þessa lausn

Change User Folder name: Even after you change the username using this method, your personal folder will continue to display the old username. To rename the user folder, do the following.
Create a system restore point first. Then open Registry Editor and navigate to the following key:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\ProfileList
2. You will find several folders here like S-1-5-. Search through them till you find a ProfileImagePath pointing to your old username. Double-click on it and replace your old username with your new username.
3. Restart your computer to see the change.

Var búinn að reyna þetta og það virkaði ekki. Allavega hvarf allt af aðgangum hjá mér þar til ég gerði System Restore

Couchpotato er með svipuð leiðindi, ég là mikið yfir þessu og endaði með því að keyra það á sér virtual vél.

Ég lenti í þessu líka þegar ég setti upp windowsið hjá mér og notaði Hotmail aðganginn til innskráningar, tölvan bjó til þessan user:
