''Rumored iPhone 5S Features:
1). Dimensions: In all probability, the iPhone 5S has been rumored to be very much similar to the iPhone 5. Think of how different the iPhone 4S was from iPhone 4 and you get the idea. There are some speculations that the iPhone 5S could get a little thicker than iPhone 5, and might – this is a rarity – be heavier owing to a different choice of glass and body.
2). Form-factor: As to the form-factor and the materials that go into the iPhone 5S, rumor mills have it that the iPhone 5S would feature the usuals. We’re most likely talking about all the usual physical buttons and the camera lenses and the speakers and audio jacks as they’re in iPhone 5. There’s been some chatter about fingerprint sensors and the likes which might change, by a bit, the overall form-factor but that seems highly unlikely to me.
3). NFC: NFC had been rumored for a long time even before iPhone 5 became a reality. The dying fires have been stoked yet again and since Android smartphones are doing big time with NFC, it is expected that Apple would soon tap into this and make it a default feature on iPhone 5S. Folks like John Gruber would probably tell you that this ain’t happening at all. (Apple has a lot of things to sort out with NFC security and the battery on the iPhone doesn’t really have as much power to hold NFC thing going on).
4). Fingerprint Sensors: When Apple acquired AuthenTec, a leading biometric-based security software maker, the rumors about a fingerprint sensor on the iPhone 5S/6 were broadcast all through the cyberspace. While this sure looks pretty interesting, it is hard to think of Apple going as much into a tech that would make the hardware a little cumbersome. Still, iPhone 5S has been rumored to hold some space for fingerprint sensing tech on it.
5). A7 CPU: This is where it gets interesting.
Apple has produced its own chip, the A6, to compete with the market’s leading mobile CPUs like Cortex ARM processors. It has, for the iPhone, done pretty well. It seems a given that the processors would be upgraded with iPhone 5S: an A7 on the cards?
There’s sometimes the occasional chit-chat about Apple joining hands with Intel to make the core of their iPhones. While this is a rumor in its embryonic form, it would be interesting if the rumor does turn out to be true.
6). Multiple Colors: Peter Misek and then Ming-chi Kuo have both speculated that the iPhone 5S would turn up in multiple color options just like its cousin, the iPod. Mockups of such a product are doing their rounds all over the internet – and they’re quite interesting, to say the least. Recently, Kuo sent an investor note with predictions of a Gold-colored shell for the iPhone 5S.
7). iOS 7 Overhaul: The biggest thing that we’re expecting, however, is the overhauled iOS 7. Ever since Johny Ive took over basically all the interface design work at Apple, I think the expectations for a major overhaul are in tow. Flat-design, fully-packed Notification Centers, possibly widgets and a lot of other things are on the wishlists. Here’s some coverage on iOS 7 concept features that we picked from around the web.
8). 128GB Memory: While it doesn’t seem very probably that Apple would bolster the memory to a whopping 128GB, there’s no saying that it wouldn’t, either. They just did that with the iPad 4 and it might signal a push towards a larger storage because a lot of people are necessarily finding their data to be scattered forcibly due to storage limitations.''
